Stress responses in the body can be described at two levels - psychological and physical.

At psychological level, is an alertness of our mind and body towards any demanding, and potentially dangerous situations.
At physical level, there is an increase in the heart rate and blood pressure, increase in the breathing rate, increase of tone in our muscle (such as stiffness), changes in our digestive system (like butterflies in      stomach, irritable bowels, etc), increased sweating, and uncontrolable rapid movements of our eyeballs.

Causes of Stress: The factors that mainly influence basic response of stress to physically threatening manifestations are:
- prolonged, unchanged postures
- cribbing, or mulling over a thought continuously
- emotional disturbances of various kinds
- constantly under one emotional pressure or the other
- overdoing of any work.
